Head of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Government Administration, Natalia Jaliashvili and the Assistant to the Prime-Minister on Human Rights and Gender Issues, Sofo Japaridze, presented to the Parliament of Georgia the report on the implementation of the Action Plan of the Government of Georgia on the Protection of Human Rights and the information on the achieved progress during the reporting period.
The representatives of the Government of Georgia and the Parliament members as well as the international expert, Maggie Nicholson, who prepared a thorough analysis on the implementation of the Human Rights Action Plan for 2016-2017, attended the Committee Meeting.
The Human Rights Secretariat of the Government Administration coordinated drafting the report. “The Action Plan of the Government of Georgia on the Protection of Human Rights (2016-2017)” was approved on 13 June 2016 by the Order #1138 of the Government of Georgia. The Action Plan is based on the National Strategy on the Protection of Human Rights, which was approved by the Parliament of Georgia on 30 April 2014.
